Invitation du Jour (#2)

So I usually don’t do more than one Invitation du Jour posts per day, but when Kella MacPhee sent over this invitation I couldn’t wait until tomorrow. The suite, designed by the bride herself, tells the story of how they met on a cruise ship. It is richly detailed, completely unique and personal to them, and I absolutely love […]

Invitation du Jour

I love these Tattoo-inspired invitations that Diane Faye Zerr of Faye + Co. created for an unconventional couple. So fun.

The Week in Weddings

A little late, but here’s a few phởtographic highlights from last week, which I would have posted had I not been buried in piles of work. Next time I’ll try to post these round-ups on Fridays. But in the meantime, if you happened to miss out on any of these weddings, be sure to take a look (click on […]

Invitation du Jour

I was so excited to see today’s design pop up on Flickr this afternoon. Designed and illustrated by the amazing Katie Kirk, this pair of invitation suites was created for her sister’s upcoming wedding in Mexico and reception. And in my opinion, they’re absolutely perfect. I especially love the “Hola” and “Hello” envelope detail. You can […]

All Cupcakes, All the Time

I realize a lot of people are over the cupcake trend for weddings. I am not one of them. As beautiful as cakes can be these days, I personally see no value in the cake cutting ceremony, other than having a pretty edible sculpture on display for the night. (Although B recently suggested that we symbolically cut a cupcake. Yes, we’re […]

Invitation du Jour

A colorful, illustrated invitation for Christine and Michael by Vanguard Works.

Inspiration Board: Black Raspberry

Silly me, forgot the credits! They are now below. Clockwise from top left: 1. Lanterns photo by Ken Luallen, 2. Invitation by Hammerpress, 3. Desserts by Liz Wolfe, 4. Flowers by Rosenow, 5. Dress by Jenny Yoo, 6. Plaid pattern by me, 7. Groomsmen photo by Ken Luallen

A Well-Branded Wedding

I’ve been anxiously awaiting pictures from Tad Carpenter’s wedding so I could do an Invitation du Jour post on what promised to be a really fun set of paper goods. But now that I’ve seen what the über-talented couple came up with, it’s clear that they deserve much more than that. As you can see below, their […]

Invitation du Jour

After reading about the Bureau of Invitations in both HOW and on simple + pretty, I knew I had to share this design here. I contacted the designer, David Eller, to get some more detailed phởtos and he told me that, surprisingly, this the first wedding invitation he’s created. Judging from the creativity of concept and the intricacy […]

Inspiration Board: Mint Chocolate Chip

The theme of this blog seems to be “Better Late Than Never”. Life and work always seem to get in the way. But in any case, here is the second official hvh mood board. Since it’s ridiculously hot in NYC at the moment  —  and ice cream is probably one of my biggest addictions  —  I’ve decided that’s going […]
