I’ve got a fun one for you today. Jen, of Papers & Packages, was kind enough to share with me the Hatch Show Print-inspired invi­ta­tions her and her hus­band cre­ated for their wed­ding this past fall. I love the laid back, show poster feel that gets car­ried through not just the design, but also the writ­ing. It’s an exam­ple of my favorite kind of invi­ta­tion — a com­plete package.

Before I show you a few more images, I’ll let Jen tell you about their process in her own words:
One of the many things I have in com­mon with my hus­band is our love of posters and the crown-jewels of our col­lec­tion are from Hatch Show Print. We wanted to incor­po­rate the look of the old fash­ioned Hatch show posters into all of the pieces of our invi­ta­tion. For the save-the-date, we cre­ated an old time post­card using wood type fonts and printed it dig­i­tally in our own stu­dio on French Paper in Kraft. For the wed­ding invi­ta­tion set, we wanted use the same feel with dark papers and incan­des­cent inks. I loved the Tangy Orange and Hot Fudge col­ors by French Paper, so we used those shades. The invi­ta­tion and response card were printed by Casey McGarr from Inky Lips Letterpress in Dallas, a friend of Jeremy. For the direc­tions, Jeremy did a great map illus­tra­tion and I wrote some fun copy on things to do while in Seattle for our 40+ guests who were com­ing in from out of town. We folded all the direc­tion sheets like maps which I thought was a great touch! We fas­tened together all the pieces with some brown twine. The envelopes were addressed with a wrap-around label.
