Part two of this spotlight features the invitations of Patrick and April, who wanted to combine his love of rock ‘n roll and her more country/nature sensibilities. This couple was on a budget and therefore printed digitally, but it’s clear to see that they really got a lot of bang for their buck with the vibrant colors and fun illustrations that distinguish this suite.

I fell in love with Linseed Paperie the second I laid eyes on their portfolio, which is what I absolutely had to do a two-part feature on them. So here you’re looking at part one, featuring the wedding invitations of owner Shanan Kurtz. I’ll let her explain the inspiration in her own words:
For my wedding invitation suite, Chris and I wanted something warm, tactile, and not too matchy-matchy. I collected leaves, berries, photographs and other small objects, had them photographed as part of a collage, and then printed the image digitally. Then the invite text was letterpressed on top (along with the rsvp cards). The suite arrived in a kraft-paper box with the paper goods nestled on a bed of wool checkered fabric (some guys wore the fabric as pocket squares to the wedding, which was a nice surprise). There were feathers tied with ribbon, attached to a tag with our wedding website URL. The calligraphy on the boxes was done by my friend Lisa Harrison.

I am loving all of the incredible textural elements she included in this suite — especially the collage — that come together to really make opening the invitation an experience in itself. Amazing.

If I were to plan my wedding all over again, the one thing I would most definitely change is my dress. While I liked my dress, I wasn’t overly concerned with the whole thing during the shopping process. I was never one of those people who expected a magical “this is the one” moment. I really just wanted something that I felt comfortable in and that didn’t cost a million dollars, which I found. Looking back though, the way the dress looked in my head all those months before the wedding wasn’t exactly how it turned out.
I wish I hadn’t been too put off by ordering something like this on Etsy, because there really are so many beautiful, affordable options out there, as you can see below. I’ve actually never ordered any clothing on Etsy though, nor do I know anyone else who has. Something about the process seems way more difficult and complicated to me than say, ordering something online from Banana Republic. But I’m thinking maybe I need to get over that. What about you, have you purchased clothing — or even your wedding or bridesmaids dresses — from Etsy? I’d love to know!

LOVE this custom wedding website Stitch Design Co. created to accompany the couple’s Save the Dates, which were previously designed by Sideshow Press. Beautiful.

I’m super inspired by some of the gorgeous dresses shown at the 2011 Pre-Fall Collections. Check out a few favorites below.

Baking is one of those things I want to love; but for some reason my attention span is extra short when it comes to anything beyond the basics. It may just be the impending clean-up that throws me off, but one batch of cookies and I’m pretty much over it. Which is why I am so smitten with and envious of the adorableness of Diamonds for Dessert, the blog of college student Susan. She somehow even made coal look cute and delicious — pretty darn impressive.

I just wanted to throw out an extremely belated congrats to 100 Layer Cake on their new site launch! The site is beautiful, not to mention super useful. And Seamless Paperie has its very own vendor page, with images of all our recent custom designs, right here.

The monogram this letterpressed wedding invitation features is anything but traditional. Designer Nedim Rahmanovic really brought life to a simple one color invitation through the use of intricate and unique letterforms. It’s modern, whimsical and sophisticated. Gorgeous.
