Amie Harrison incorporated some really amazing details — die cuts, embossing, vintage papers — into this invitation package for Poppy & Shane. It must have been a special treat to receive one of these beauties in the mail.

It’s not that I don’t love all the brightly colored chiffon and tulle flower shoe clips that are out there, but you can really only have so many. So I’m loving the selection of unique shoe clips from Fink Shop. There are still a few flowers in the mix, but they use materials like fur, leather and rhinestones to really take the glam factor up a notch.

How great are these custom monograms by Happy Menocal? They’d make an amazing centerpiece for a wedding brand, or they’d even be great for personal stationery after the wedding.

As previously mentioned, there will be quite a few changes around here this year, many in the first quarter. Larger changes, including a redesign and the launch of Seamless Paperie are in the works. But let’s start with a smaller update. For both my and your benefits, I’ve put together a posting schedule for 2011. I will still publish features on new work, real weddings, and other topics that don’t fit neatly into a category here and there throughout the week. But in an effort to post more consistently, I’ve assigned a specific post category to every day. I may still make some adjustments as time goes on, but for now here is what we’re looking at:
MMMondays: Whether it’s a dessert table, a cake decorator or a recipe for DIY folks, I’ll feature something delicious every Monday.
Inspiration Boards: My inspiration boards will finally be on a regular schedule. To start, these will go up every other week. But eventually I’d like to be posting them on a weekly basis.
Etsy Finds: Each Wednesday I’ll feature a round-up of Etsy finds on a particular topic.
Invitation du Jour: These posts will still appear throughout the week as I find them, but there will always be one up on Thursday mornings.
The Week in Weddings: I’ve done this feature a couple of times before, but never got into the habit of posting it consistently. Each Friday I’ll feature a collection of images from the online wedding world that have caught my eye over the previous five days.

We are currently taking a much-needed break to relax with friends and family over the holidays. If you have any time off in the next week, enjoy! Otherwise, we’ll be back with lots of fresh content starting January 3rd. Thanks so much for your continued support over the past 12 months — we’re looking forward to what 2011 will bring.
Nope. I have not, in fact, dropped off the face of the earth. You would think that’s the case, considering the radio silence as of late, but I’m still here. The end of the year is always an incredibly crazy time for me, between finishing up client work, getting year-end business details wrapped up, not to mention the whole shopping-wrapping-baking madness of the holidays. This year was no different, and I really can’t believe where the last 12 months have gone. So much has happened and it feels like it all transpired in the blink of an eye.
In any case…we have lots in store for all of the Seamless brands in 2011, so expect some changes (good ones) around here — one being a more strict posting schedule. So I hope you’ll stick with me til then! I’ll be back and raring to go after the first of the year. Happy Holidays!
Before I get into today’s invitation I wanted to point you over to design work life. All week I’ve been posting various gift guides, and gift-related posts. Many are design-centric, but quite a few will appeal to everyone. So take a look!
And now onto the invitations…Just before Thanksgiving I posted on dwl about the work of Aaron Robbs, a graphic designer based in Atlanta. Aside from the work I originally featured, the invitations he designed for his recent wedding, of course, caught my eye. The design is modern and sophisticated — the mix of graphic patterns in combination with the black, white and gold color palette is incredibly dynamic. And I love the subtle nod to their distinct cultures through language — “Oh, oui!” and “Naw man” as the response options.
Aaron and Julia’s wedding, shot by Our Labor of Love, was also recently featured on Once Wed. In case you missed the adorableness, you can see more right here.
